Synthesia is one of the longest-running AI avatar video platforms. You write or paste a script, pick an AI avatar and a template, and the platform generates a presenter-style video. Around that core it now offers dubbing, interactive videos, roleplays and surveys, all paid for from a single pool of monthly credits.

The pricing page is explicit about how credits are spent. Credits are consumed only when something is generated, never while editing or previewing, and video creation is charged on the avatar footage generated rather than the length of the finished video. Synthesia states that a typical finished minute uses about 100 credits; dubbing is charged per minute dubbed, with lip-sync costing more than plain dubbing. Every plan, including the free one, also gets 10 minutes of video or dubbing, 3 survey responses and 500 credits each month.

The plan ladder is Basic (free), Starter, Pro and Enterprise. Basic is enough to test the editor, but videos carry a watermark and cannot be downloaded. Starter unlocks downloads, removes the logo and adds the AI Video Assistant and survey analytics. Pro is the plan most teams will compare against: it adds 5 personal avatars, branded video pages and interactive videos, and it is sold at several credit levels so you can raise volume without changing plans. Enterprise adds unlimited video minutes, SAML/SSO, brand kits, SCORM export and 1-click translation into 140+ languages.

Two limits are worth knowing before you commit. Monthly allowances and plan credits reset each billing period and do not roll over (on annual plans the year’s credits are available up front, and separately purchased credits last 12 months). When you hit the limit, video creation pauses until renewal unless you buy extra credits or move up a credit level.
